Do You Need An Acroyoga Training Partner?

Today I'm going to explain why if you're serious about getting better at acro you absolutely need an acroyoga training partner!

It feels a bit like I'm discussing the pro's and con's of monogamous and open relationships here, haha!

There's probably some cross over between these topics to be honest.

Maybe I'll explore that in another blog sometime.

Anyway...

Here's the reasons for a dedicated acro partnership...

Callibration, connection, trust, comfort, habit, I'm sure there's more even.

To give this some more detail...

When you train regularly with one partner (assuming its a good and enjoyable training partnership).

You build a consistent practice with this partner.

You build connection, communication and all the others things mentioned which help you when it comes to doing acro.

It's the same as building a relationship in the work place, if it's a good partnership and you do it well and work regularly with someone.

You both get more efficient and better at doing your jobs and working together.

Without intending or trying you will get to know the person better on a conscious and subconscious level with acro.

You'll understand how they think, move and feel once you've trained enough times together.

This helps immeasurably with acro.

Because in case you haven't heard me say it before...

The key to excelling at acro isn't skill or strength or flexibility it's teamwork.

Also if you have a great connection and teamwork, it's more fun and more enjoyable to play and train!

I often find myself recommending to those who are keen to improve at acro to:

1. Get lessons, and

2. Get a regular acro partner

I'm not saying pick any random person and become acro training partners...

Quite the opposite.

If you want to know my detailed recommendation for finding an acro partner then don't miss the next blog ;)

Cheers,
